    (x)svcd resolution problem with tmpgenc

    hi, when i encode from dvd (dvd2avi) to mpeg2 with tmpgenc i never get the right output resolution. since i mostly have pal dvds i usually set it to 480x576 but the output resolution is 720x576 when i check in mediaplayer.
    with vcd and xvcd it works all fine tho.
    thx for any help

    "but the output resolution is 720x576 when i check in mediaplayer."

    Don't sweat it. Windows Media Player lies. If you drag a 720x480 (NTSC) .VOB file onto it, it will swear that the resolution is 720x540 ;>}

      hi again.
      yea i know mplayer is not a really reliable way to check mpeg2 files but i also opened them with powerdvd 4, what doesnt tell me the resolution but out of the aspect ratio i can see its not 480x576 because there should be big black bars above and below my 16:9 picture and what i get is an almost fullscreen picture with almost no black bars.
      is there any other tool or plugin or sth that can tell me more about my mpeg2 file. i tried with virtualdub but it refuses to open any mpeg2 content.
      thx,
