    cropping without encoding??

I was wondering, If I have a svcd..is it possible to crop part of the movie without actually reencoding ( as a reencode would equal another loss in quality)?

    Any ideas/ help?

    TMPGEnc>>File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

(Make certain to set mode to "MPEG-2 SuperVideoCD")

          My apologies!

You used the correct terminology - and, as such, may be the first poster at these forums to do so. Virtually all other posts here asking about "cropping" are typically referring to "editing" or "clipping" of full frames and/or segments from a video.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, in order to crop any video format, you'll have to re-encode.

There's always the hope that another poster, with additional knowledge/information, will come along to prove me wrong - in which case, I'd be more than happy (for your sake) to apologize yet again...

Just curious - What necessitates such unusual editing?

to remove an unwanted "mark" from the picture

I hope there is a way to do it with out encoding, it is theoretically just removing a part of the film?!

            Lets hope and see!
