Avi to MPEG with Dvobsub filter

I have an Avi file that has Direct Vob Sub subtitles and im trying to convert that avi to mpeg but I cant seem to get the subtitles to follow along with the conversion. Im wondering what should I do to get the directshow filter to convert with the video so the my mpeg has permanent subtitles encoded on the video.

well first of all you have to make sure that your subtitles are *.srt , because if you use other format they won't get sincronised
