DVD to VCD conversion

I have been trying to conver DVD to VCD using different methods and the one i am using is TMPEGenc and the final mpg file burnt with neuro when played back has the following problems.

the movie is jerky though the sound and vedio looks good the movie does not run in a smooth fashion. it moves smooth for a while and there is a short jerk and this goes on all through the movie. ihave read through the manauls but culd not find a solution. this happens in buth TMPEGenc and FlaskMPEG. does any one have a answer for this?

yeah I had this problem to, what video software are you using? What I do is defrag my computer after that I restart and usually the playback is fine. What are the specs on your computer? I hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. I did not understand your question did you mean the NEURO burner software? And could you let me more about the procedures for 'defrag' as i do not know anything about the computer unless taught.

my computer specs are intel pentium4 dell.
