I'm confused

I'm having hte audio synch problem with the mpeg file I made. I saw lots of threads regarding this problem. but now I'm confused. I used DVD2AVi to make a D2v file and a wave file. gave those files as a video and audio source to TMPGEnc to make a MPG file. In most of the solutions regarding Audio synch problem I saw the use of virtual dub. But virtual dub needs a avi fiel as an input. So If I want to synch my mpeg file using virtualdub how should I do it? Please clear my confusion...

if you wanna do it with tmpg...enter your video and your audio as you previously did....click the "settings" at the bottom..click "advanced" tab at the top..double click on "source range" at the bottom it has the audio correct in msec. change the number accordingly..click "ok" then make sure the little box next to "source range" is checked....then go for it..you might want to encode a small test just to make sure its how you want it.
