I have downloaded the movie the Shipping News from Morpheous. Its an AVI file, however when I go to convert it to an Mpeg using TMPGEnc, as soon as it gets to 19% a box comes up and says "illegal floating decimal point calculation order". What do I do to stop this from happening?

i had (have with original file) the same problem..
i just open virtualdub, open the "broken" file, marked segment before and then after the "broken" frame, choose under video menu "save as direkt stream", save segmentet avi...
when i got 2 files of the movie, whitout the "broken" frame, i open virtualdub again, open the first part of the movie, then under file "append avi segment" the 2 part of the movie..
now i have the complete movie together again.. and saved it as a direct stream.. ta da!.. no it's not that complicated as it sounds..
i'm sure this is NOT the best way to do it, but it's the only way i know of at the moment.. so i'm also wondering about the right stuff to fix thouse problems..

A slightly easier method is, after you've "marked" the beginning and end of the corrupt frames, go to the "Edit" dropdown menu and simply select "Delete Frames", then save your complete and clean file...Comment

Setting "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy" does not alter the quality of the video at all...Comment
