audio video sync for vcd in tmpg ne

I have downloaded an avi movie and want to make a vcd to play in a standalone dvd player. After conversion to ntfs vcd in tmpg at 352 x 240 with 29.97 and 44100 cbr etc etc. the audio is in sync in the beginning but not at the end of the movie ( the avi was fine) I have seen this complaint all over the boards but have yet to see a solution. nickys starts a topic but only speaks about sync ing up an avi. How about a solution to sync up the vcd????

(Just change references of "MPEG2-SuperVideoCD" and "SVCD" to MPEG1_VideoCD" and "VCD")
