Xvid to SVCD - Result not smooth

I'm converting a XviD to SVCD using AVI2SVCD with tmpgenc, without framerate conversion (input and output are 25fps). I can see the Xvid in the PC and it is running smoothly, but after converting it to SVCD it is not smooth (specially in the slow panning movements I detect periodic skips). I,ve upgraded do the last XviD and it is still the same. I also try to frameserve it using VirtualDub and Tmpgenc because I can see it smooth in VirtualDub but the problem was the same. Also tried to decompress a piece of it to a plain AVI using virtualdub and also the same problem in the uncompressed film (not smooth), but I can see the original XviD smoothly in VirtualDub or in the MediaPlayer... Can someone help me? Is the first time this happens to me!

    Thanks

    Fernando

How high (or low) did you set the bitrate at when encoding?
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Also search on the whole Digital-Digest website:

yes, i had this problem once also. to fix this, you need to open up the avic (4cc changer) that came with the xvid codec (it can normally be located at start menu>programs>xvid>avic (4cc changer)). you will have it if you have the Koepi's build.

      open it
      load the video
change all the boxes from xvid to divx
      click apply

that should help because divx seems to be more compatable than xvid in certain cases like this. hope that helps.
