Making SVCD movies

Ok I'm new to all this movie downloading and copying to to a cd, however why pay movie to buy these movies if i can download for free. anyways, I have downloaded somw movies from Kazaa in avi format. I need to know what needs to needs to be done to transfer them to a regular cdrw to be viewed in my dvd player. I also want to know if the screen format can be changed to a bigger screen and how to do it.
