    From VHS to (S)VCD?

    My 'problem':
I capture 3 minutes of VHS to .AVI, using Pinnacle Studio 8.
Then I edit the AVI, by using cd-music, and produce a new AVI.
    So far, so good.
But when I choose : "Make (S)VCD", it takes about 5 hours before encoding 3 minutes of AVI!!
There múst be a quicker way, isn't it?!?!
Can someone tell my (step by step) how they transfer their AVI's into (S)VCD?
I also want a "reasonable" quality on my tv-screen...
Or do I ask too much?
    (I still use Windows 98)

Use TMPGEnc (Select the SVCD "wizard"/tmplate)...

ur card is capable of capturing in vcd/svcd complient mpeg1/mpeg2.

u can save time by directly capturing to that.
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

When I click on "Browse", júst before "start recording", I see a amall window, telling me that I can Capture to AVI or to MPG. But even when I choose MPG, it automatically becomes an AVI!
Even when I single-handed write .MPG behind it.
I don't understand how I can capture directly to MPG.
That will be saving me hours!!!
