VirtualDub Problem

When I use VD to encode an AVI file to an AVI file so that TMPGnc will accept it, I sometimes get a message that says.......

"AVIOutput-The parametres are incorrect"

I haven't done anything to the file, i.e change settings.

The file is NTSC 29.97 fps, and is good quality, however the sound is average from the original.

I changed the codec to div3 using AViForcecc.

How can I stop this error message coming up?

The files I am having trouble with are...........

352 x 240, 24 Bits, 44509 Frames, 14.985 Frames/Sec, 44 KB/Sec, MS-MPEG4 V3

I think I read in the help section of VD that this format is basically unsupported, am I right?

What can I use to code this file to div3 or div4 so that it will encode?

I have tried using avi force but it says, "error, the file must be read only".

Help i'm getting frustrated..........

You must have changed something besides the codec name:

"The file is NTSC 29.97 fps"

"14.985 Frames/Sec"
