Hmm, no m2s on a search. Sure that's right? Where does it come from?
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

"I need to convert m2s file to mpeg2 standard extension"

Are you sure you don't mean "M2v"?

        m2s is mpeg-2 audio & video
m2v is mpeg-2 video only file

use any mpeg-2 program to read m2s & save as the extension you needed.

          Which program ,for example ?

I have a utility to convert m2s to mpg
But it stops midway and it creates a temperory video file and audio file

I used TMPGEnc to encode these files to mpg, but the sound is distorted

If this is the case, try simply changing the extension to mpg?

I need to convert m2s file to mpeg2 standard extension.
The use of .m2s goes back a long way and should never be used now as .mpg is the standard extension for all VBS/ABS MPG files.

Rather than rename it (as this can lead to corruption of the video) use TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools (under file) to remux the two streams.
Load the file in to the Simple Multiplex option and if it doesn't automatically select it select MPEG-2 Program (VBR) from the drop down Type list. The output file will automatically be given the correct .mpg extension so just hit Run and let MPEG Tools remux the two streams.

If it's an SVCD (Super Video-CD) select MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR) from the Type drop down list then hit Run.

Now you'll have a correct working file.

Might help to put one of your files into VirtualDubMod and post the screenshot of 'file info' here.
