Hi fingerpupet, I read you've had a bit of a problem with matching media to your writer. You are using DVD+R? Does your standalone player accept +R? you can check on http://www.dvdrhelp.com./dvdplayers
In Nero, are you selecting DVD compliancy and puting all files into the VIDEO_TS folder on your DVD?
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

hey sfheath thanks for the reply, i am using dvd+r and my player does play them, as for puting all files in video_ts i was not,
but now that i am this works fine thanks very much for the help.
as for the file being to big i found if you use dvd srink to srink the file and use it again to srink the srunk file it fits on the disk just, its a bit of a longwinded way of doing it but if anyone can recomend a different way that would be great...

hah! you discovered the trick of Shrinking twice! nice one.
        Glad you've succeeded

You can achieve higher levels of compression with MPEG4/DivX/Xvid ... but that's a whole new chapter!
