aspect ratio problem

I'm trying to encode an asf to SVCD for playback in my dvd player. The file has a rather odd resolution: 720 x 300. I've tried converting it to PAL mpeg-2 with TMPGenc directly. I've tried converting it to mpeg-1 with TMPGenc and then re-encode it to SVCD with Nero 6.0. Tried several resolutions but it's always squashed, stretched or the sides fall off. I'm new at this. Help me, please.

other settings
advanced
video arrange method choose "full screen keep aspect ratio"
