Remove unwanted text from .avi

Hi,

I am new to this board and would appreciate the help. I have japanese animation avi files that contain subtitles (that i am fine with).

The problem is with the other texts that appear out of nowhere. Either the author puts comments or an image in a corner. How do i remove that and with what? The only products i have is AVI Edit, and virtualdub.

hard copied titles are impossible to remove.
