open the application folder and you will see an movieidw.exe file, drag your MPG file (the one that you don't hear sound at him)over the movieidw.exe file an upload the result to me (us) .

(I assume that your source has an MP3 audio encoding)
Your XP came with a very basic mp3 encoder, perhaps Tmpgenc cannot encode the audio as well, try installing Radium MP3 codec from here:

It still won't encode it with sound and the file size is still really huge for what it really is. I think if the sound is fixed it wouldn't be so large.
