    Video looks a bit squashed

I am using TMPGEnc to encode. Everything is fine, except, I cant seem to get the screen size right. It looks fine before I encode ( Letterbox), but after im finished encoding, the video looks squashed a bit. When I play it on my DVD player, with my TV, it still looks squashed. Can some tell me the best screen size to set TMPGEnc to before I encode. Thanks

In TMPGEnc, go to "Settings" >"Advanced" and under "Video Arange Method: Full Screen" "Keep aspect ratio" should be selected. Source aspect ratio by default should be 1:1 (VGA).

If the video is anamorphic, you'll have to take that into account when authoring the disc -- it's not an encoding issue.
