splitting film into 2 dvd's

I've got this problem splitting a dvd (steptoe & son 5 episodes plus history total over 8 gigs).Using shrink the compresssion is 50% which seems a lot so i decided to split . Would the split be between episodes 3 & 4?.Usually i use decrypter then dvd2one burning just the movie ( this keeps the quality ).Could anyone advise me.
