    SVCD Audio (Using DVD2SVCD)

This is probably a newbie question, so aplogogies in advance ... I'm creating SVCD's using DVD2SVCD and either CCE SP or TPMGEnc. The picture's not bad (although I may ask for advice in a later post about how to make it better), but I've noticed that there's a screech/squelch in the sound when there is loud music, etc. Any advice? (note: Please let me know if I should be reposting in the Newbie section)
    Thanks in advance ....

Have you tried to "De-multiplex" the audio from the video to determine if the audio file has this problem when played on its own?

No I haven't ... and I don't think I can now, since I've erased the source files from my hard drive. One thing though ... I made the SVCD from a "SmartRIPPER" rip rather than from the source DVD. I recall reading somewhere that this could affect sound quality. Could that be it? (Sorry if this is a newby question)
