Newbie here so bear with me, Have used TMPGEnc to encode a few files but when I got to the ones I really want to put on disc the file was "not supported". AVI file, 29 fames/sec, audio:mpeg-3, 512x384. Any help would be greatly appreciated, becasue I just cant figure out why its being denied. Thanks

Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio for use with TMPGEnc
Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV
1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)
2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"
3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"
4) From the "File" dropdown menu, save .AVI with a new filename -
Also, I use a free program called avitovcd. It came w/ a cool little utillity called Decompress it! You just fire it up, load the avi into it and hit decompress it! It will make a decompressed vers. of the avi. It usually doubles the size but not to worry, when you take it into tmpgen and convert the avi, the size usually go's back down some. And you can always use your tools to split it if need be. I looked at the website and it seems to be gone

But it is a really been around a while and you should be able to find it somewhere. Maybe he has a new site? A friend sent me this when I first started converting movie files.
The Avi decoder isn't the best for Quality and it takes forever so I don't normally use that part of it. BUT if you really have a stubborn file that you cannot seem to get any other converter to open, it usually will. So, in a last resort I have used it a time or two. I guess a low quality movie is sometimes better than no movie at all huh? lol.
