subtitles with mainconcept mpeg encoder

ok, i was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me whether its possible to add subtitles to your avi for encoding an svcd with mainconcept mpeg encoder?

I have the avi file and the .srt file in the same directory and all is ready to go, i just need to know how to add to add the subtitles in mpeg encoder?

or alternatively is there a way of embedding the subtitles permanently into the avi?

please help, all the other guides i have seen on how to do this involve using tmpgenc, however i use mainconcept mpeg encoder.
