    Problems encoding into mpeg2

I want to make a dvd video, but the video files need to be

encoded to mpeg2 first. However, in the middle of encoding my

computer crashes. I've tried using Tmpeg, and Nero but my

computer still crashes. My OS is windows 2000, so those

programs should be compatible, but I don't know what's wrong.

Anybody have any idea? Please Help.

What is the format of the original video?

Does the original video play on your PC?

If the original file is .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise):

    1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box
