    CD-R that play VCDs!?!?!

I have only attempted creating VCDs a few times without succses...if I remember correctly I did one with FlaskMPEG (crap I know but I was a noob ) and the other with TEMPec Plus or what ever its called...they both worked on my pc but would never play on my dvd player (it does support VCDs) so...what brand/make of CD-R are 100% known to work well with VCDs???

    Thanks alot

As far as I know there are no rewards for impatience and you my friend are still behaving like a noob

Try waiting a few more hours for a reply, slavery has been abolished and no one here is obliged to reply. Simply because all concerned do it in their spare time, that good for you?

Flaskmpeg is a good free program but there are othere out there like Nero 6 capable of burning VCD/SVCD to a T.

As far as I know Memorex/TDK/Maxwell are good on playback of that kind of format.

Drive wise I never tried playing a VCD/SVCD on a cd drive but I know it plays on DVD drives and some compatible standalone players I have tried

"but would never play on my dvd player (it does support VCDs)"

Perhaps your Standalone player does not like whatever "Type/Brand" of media that you are using.

Now, the question is: Did you just convert it to MPEG-1 (VCD compliant?) Or did you actually burn it to VCD on the CD-R?

Making it VCD compliant, and actually burning it onto the CD-R are two different things.

Every single VCD I've made, I've used TMPGENce to convert it to MPEG-1, then use Nero to burn it onto the CD-R

              Pioneer DV-525

My Pioneer DV-525 reads VCD's with no problems I've seen. It will read SVCD's too, but sometimes it complains with the SVCD's, seems to have a hard time finding something but does eventually.
