Do I have to wait for complete conversion to hear sound?

Hello everyone.. Im very new and have looked around the threads seeing if this has been mentioned before, and didnt find any.

    Im using TMPGenc2.5

To convert a 700 odd meg AVI to VCD takes about 7 - 8 hours, Ive had to play with TMPG a few times but now ive finally got a VCD that shows the actually vid (great quality too) on my home DVD

However so far I have stopped it a couple of times when it has done about 90 odd meg and have made sure it works on my home DVD player ( was not sure if the settings are correct ) but I dont have any sound ?

So would the sound accompany any amount of video or does the sound get added towards the end of the conversion.. I have sound on my computer but none on the home DVD player...

Any help would be appriecated greatly..

    Regards

    Daryl

TMPGEnc adds/multiplexes the audiostream to a VCD structure only AFTER it's created the entire videostream...

          Mr Setarip

You obviously know your stuff, Hope you dont mind me asking a couple more newbie questions concerning conversions

I have a 1 gig Athlon, would it make much difference if the conversion took place on a approx 4gig Pentium.. or does TMPG have a max speed no matter what speed processor you have?

Also in your opinion what is the fastest conversion program available?

It will make a significant difference

I don't concern myself with speed comparisons - I believe TMPGEnc provides top quality results...
