What makes you think the subtitles (I assume you mean they are PERMANENT subtitles) will be cut off when you convert to VCD?

ARE they permanent subtitles (part of the .AVI file) or a separate subtitle file that plays together with the .AVI?

If that's the case, is the TOP part of the picture also being cut off?

"get cut off when being played on the tv"

If this is only happening on your TV (and NOT on your PC), it would seem that your television's "Vertical height" setting is set too big. If you have controls available (either physical knobs on the front or back of the TV, or onscreen), reduce the "Vertical height"...

                    To Kosiji

                    1) Your question is different than that of "dukenukem" and should be posted as a "New thread"

I have the same problem... But my television doesn't have the option to adjust the "Vertical height." It doesn't happen on my PC, only my tv. Is there any other solutions?
