    TMPGEnc Plus (VOB x MPEG-1)

    I´m using TMPGenc Plus to convert VOB to VCD (mpeg-1) the final work is perfect in the first file (VTS_01_1.VOB) however, TMPGEnc doesn't get open the other VOB files informing that the file is not supported.

    I used the program VSTRIP to create a big VOB file with the whole second part of DVD and like this to make the conversion with TMPGEnc Plus, but when he tries to open the big VOB appears the message: "range check error "...

    reading several tutoriais, did I discover that the VOB files have a header and what, usually, just the first file VOB of the dvd have that header, I believe which this problem is that VSTRIP doesn't create the header for the files VOB (did I open that big VOB file in Windows Media Player and doesn't it show the duration of the video that should be in the header of VOB). does Anybody know some program that includes the header in the VOB file created with SVSTRIP?

      Have you tried simply joining ALL of the .VOBS, starting with VTS_01_1.VOB?

      I'd suggest you use VOBMerge to do this...

          I thought about this but the total size would be too large (7,2GB)... Therefore I try make 2 big VOB files with 3,6GB...

              Too big for what?

              If your O/S is WinXP and your hardrive is formatted as NTSF, you'll have no trouble creating and saving this size .VOB to your hard drive...

                  Yesterday I installed the AVISYNTH to serve frames for the TMPGEnc and this work fine, only the audio was without sync (I am working in this now...) do you would have some tip to fix this?

                  perhaps this can help somebody, then I summarize the steps that followed:
                  1. With VSTRIP I make 2 big VOB files with 3.6GB each
                  2. extracts the audio (wave) for each VOB with BeSweet.
                  3. Install the AVISynth to serve frames of second big VOB file to the TMPGEnc. For first big VOB file is not necessary, the TMPGEnc work fine with that file.
                  4. Make the script (.avs) to load the second big VOB file. A nice guide about this is in the Nicky Page (http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/synth-vdub.htm)
                  5. Use the TMPGEnc to merge first VOB (open directly the VOB) with .wav (step 2)
                  6. Use the TMPGEnc to merge second VOB (open the .avs created in the step 4) with .wav (step 2)

                  The problem is that the MPEG generated in step six probably will be with audio without sync... If somebody to know as to fix this, please says me!

                      I'm a bit confused by your initial post. Do you have ONLY .VOB files, or do you have the FULL COMPLEMENT of DVD files, .IFOs, .BUPs, AND .VOBs?

                      If you have ALL of the DVD files, you could use a program such as FlaskMPEG, together with either the LSX or Panasonic plugin, to convert directly to VCD-compatible format - WITHOUT having to merge any .VOBs...

                          Excuse the delay in answering, but the real world needed my works and I had to travel being far away from my computer for some time!

                          I have the whole DVD (.IFOs, .BUPs, AND .VOBs )but when I used FlaskMPEG the results they were not satisfactory. I got a good image but a micro delay existed among the frames. Perhaps I have not known how to configure it correctly or I have not installed the best codec to do that.

                          Animes/cartoons present glyphs in the sharp edges (I am murdering the English language... )

                          Thefact is that didn't get a VCD with good quality. That I began to try other alternatives (xMPEG, imTOO, 1ClickDVDtoVCD, etc...) and a friend informed me on TMPGEnc. VCDs (mpeg-1) converted with TMPGEnc were excellent, without glyphs or flicker. The small sync problem I got to solve in own TMPGEnc.

                          I know that I followed the longest road, but it was where I got the best results...

                          I would like to thank its patience with me because they are not everybody that have patience with beginners like me! I made an effort for not speaking nonsense (I don't know if I got)
