    TMPEGEnc Comparisons

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the difference is between

    TMPGEnc-2.53.35.130-Plus

    and
    TMPGEnc-2.53.35.130

Other than the top one is commercial and the bottom not. Tmpegenc website does not reference the other website.

Both GUIs seem the same except the plus one has a smaller file size.

Are there any other differences like a speed increase?

Also which is the best one to use.

Is there nay way other than using avisysnth to feed output from Premiere into TMEGenc?

    Thanks

I seem to recall the TMPGEnc site indicating a few weeks back that the commercial version was going to include DVD-format output. This information has apparently since been removed from the site - and can be found "buried" in the Pegasus site at :

        To johnboy

That's available as a template with v.2.0. I have no way of knowing what the author/marketing company is referring to...

sorry..i loaded it in and here are its parameters.
          DVD NTSC (MPEG-2 720x480 29.97fps CQ 65, Layer-2 48000Hz 224kbps)
sure looks fine to me..and also my version is
          0.11.25.109 or beta 12g
now if i had a dvd burner would i go for this template?
i wont have a burner for a few more months so i guess i should go read all the other posts too..i got plenty of time.

            To johnboy

I'm aware of the parameters that the template establishes. What I was trying to convey is that perhaps the marketing firm is indicating that the "Plus" version is capable of creating the requisite authoring files (.IFO, etc.) necessary to actually burn a DVD. But I can't tell from they're advertising...
