Help required Please with AVI file

    Hi

I am trying to convet an AVI file to mpeg for burning to VCD.
I am using a copy of virtual dub and tmpgenc. I have tried over and over
again. I create the mpeg file and burn to disc to find the lip sync is way
    out
    This is the file details:-

    Video
    Audio-Video Interleaved AVI
    Horizontal size 640 pixels
    Vertical 272
    Compression Divx MPEG4 Low Motion
    duration 57 mins
color depth 24 bits per pixel
    number of frames 0
    video frame 1.#nf frames/sec
    data rate 205 kb/sec

    Audio
    audio format PCM
    sample rate 48khz
    bits per sample 0
    number of channals 2

I open AVI file in virualdub and pop up box says Virtualdub has detected an
improper audio encoding in the source avi file. This may introduce up to 73
ms of skew from the video stream. decompress the entire audio stream to an
uncompressed Wav file and recopress with a constant bitrate encoder.
    (Bitrate 192.0 # 0.6 kbps

Could someone point me in the right direction please. Do I need anymore
    programs etc.

    Thanks for your help

Your .AVI file contains a Variable Bit Rate (VBR) MPEG Layer3 (MP3) audio stream. I believe that if you use NanDub instead of VirtualDub, it will gladly accept the file for input. If so, set "Video" to "Direct Stream Processing" and "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode". Under the "Audio" dropdown menu, make the necessary changes to save a new filename with "normal" (Constant Bit Rate [CBR]) Mp3. You should then be able to use that file with TMPGEnc.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

I got nandub but still have problems.
I did what you said but am unsure how to set to constant bitrate. I cannot find the option

      there are options for
      no audio
      avi audio
      vbr mp3 audio
      ac3 audio
      ogg

I truly thankyou for your help and support. Once I have sussed it then all will be well.

You may want to try Virtualdub instead.
