adding .sub subtitles to a divx to vcd conversion

.....i could use some assisstance/suggestions on how to properly add the .sub subtitles to a vcd when converting from divx.......i tried this guide http://www.videohelp.com/subsvirtual.htm but i couldnt quite follow.....i had planned on using nti cd/dvd maker 6.5 gold to do the conversion.....if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it....

By using VOBSub in conjunction with VirtualDub, you can PERMANENTLY add your ".SUB" format subtitles to your DivX-compressed .AVI...
