    No Sound On Vcd

    Only new at doing this but ive been converting a Divx movie to VCD with TMPGEnc program ive been following somones advice in the VCD/SVCD forum ive got it on to VCD but with no sound ive tryed this that many times and its starting to piss me off.
    Just dont know what im doing wrong?

    Please help?

      Chances are that TMPGEnc is encountering an audio stream in a format it can't handle for conversion.

      What is the audio format of the original .AVI?

          Does this sound write MPEG Layer-3 Kbits/s,48000 hz,stereo?

              That's part of the information. It's probably a VBR (Variable Bit Rate) MP3 audiostream, which TMPGEnc cannot handle. You'll have to convert the audio to CBR (Constant Bit Rate) MP3 or Uncompressed PCM (.WAV) format.

                      Use GraphEdit or VirtualDub to extract the audio from the avi-file. Extract it to an uncompressed wav-file. Wav size about 1Gig! Then Use your avi as video-source and the extracted wav-file as audio-source. This method works great. Have used it on several divx's with great result

                          no sound

                          Look ive tried the Graphedit program but it keeps crashing on me but is there any other programs around that can do the job for me?

                          because i cant find the virtual one?

                              Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio

                              Simply use VirtualDub to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file.
                              Then set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
                              Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file).

                              Then close VirtualDub and restart it
                              Set "Audio" to "No audio"
                              Load your silent .AVI
                              Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
                              Under "Audio" click on "WAV Audio" and load your .WAV
                              From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and save your file with a new filename.

                              Your new .AVI should now be totally (video and audio) acceptable to TMPGEnc.
