converting avi to mpg

how do i convert a avi file in fccHandler: div4
to a mpg fccHandler: MPG1
the avi file has about 37mb
and i want the same display configuration so the size of the file will be almost
the same. it cant be a large file.
can anyone help me?

i'm not sure whether it helps you fully, you'd better have a try of imtoo mpeg encoder. it has a guide showing you its functions and faqs:

I have used it to convert avi files to mpeg2. it did it excellently.
