if it can read VCD format the files would be in mpeg-1 standard form such as 352x240.

what procedures did you use to get the file(s) on the cd-r? no offense to you here, honest, but you really should look into a dvd writer. you can get one as cheap as 20$. 40$ for a good one (U.S.) that i've seen. i have a bunch of VCD's too when i first started all this, now i wish i had bought i dvd writer right off the bat, only problem was, they weren't cheap enough for a poor fella like me

40 $ wow prices have really droped then sorry i live in a back water town and didnt really look them up on line for prices but your prob right if i can spend 40 bucks on a game i can go buy a dvd burner on that though what would be best +/-........... well i looked at the specs to see if my dvd player will play dvd r+/- and it dont say so i just might stick with the vcd/svcd i used a ripper umm no 1 dvd ripper or 1 click im not sure into mpeg2 then used tmpgenc to put it into mpeg1 then i used mediinfo and avicodec tel see that they were both the same codecs

well hang on here, i want to push you in the right direction

what is the make and model# of your dvd player?

if you used tmpgenc's VCD wizard then it is in the proper form. your playermay not like VCD, you may have poor media, or maybe you burned it too fast.

well it supports VCD's alright. there is no info about it at videohelp.com.

yes mpeg-1 is the VCD format. what did you use to burn the disc with?

                    ah! that definetly explains it!

if your going to make a disc of mpeg's to be viewed on your standalone dvd player you make a VCD, NOT data disc. i use nero so i can't help with sonic as i have never used it.

                            it's nothin
the best thing you could do at this point is buy a dvd writer. once you have that, dvd shrink, dvd decrypter/dvdfab decrypter should be enough to get you started. they're all free too.
