video PTS/DTS underrun in bbmeg

many probs making vids. when I make an SVCD, I am trying to encode the avi with TMPG using the templates, then de-multiplex into m2v and mp2. then I pop those files into bbmpeg and use the SVCD settings and then Iget all sorts of pts and dts underuns at pack .........
no idea how to fix it. I have tried messing with the mux setting and even set it to 0 and then the file ended up 4.5G when it was 1.9G total. I am not sure why it made the file so much bigger. and of course it bbmpeg tells me that the file probably won't play, and it doesn't.

If you've already converted the .AVI into MPEG2-SuperVideoCD format using TMPGEnc, why on Earth are you then demuxing and trying to convert yet again using BBMPEG?

After TMPGEnc is finished, just use NERO or simlar to burn (NOT convert", just BURN) the resultant file as a SuperVideoCD.

the reason for using bbmeg is, and following a guide over at doom9, that after encoding the mpeg2, it is very large and can't fit on a disk. So I need to split it, and doom9 suggests that instead of splitting with TMPG to split with bbmpeg. and to split with bbmpeg it suggests that I split the video into m2v and mp2 and then load that. I know you can split with TMPG but have been needing to experiment because of output problems. so that is the reason for BBMPEG being used.

I also have been playing with frameserving and CCE along with this and can't get it to work.

I would STRONGLY suggest that you first try to split it with TMPGEnc. If you generate a similar error, you will then know that the initial MPEG2-SuperVideoCD you've created is flawed - and you can start your research from that point.

Presently, you don't know if it's a file problem, a demuxing problem, a BBMPEG problem, or a TMPGEnc problem...

Just curious, do both the original .AVI and the TMPGEnc-created SVCD play properly?

the original avi plays fine. but after conversion and burnt to a disc, I am getting some video problems. the audio will keep going like nothing is wrong but the video has some burps, or whatever you want to call it, where the video starts speeding up and acting crazy and then all the sudden the video comes back to sync with the audio. no where have I posted this problem has someone gave me a reason or solutions, so is what I have been doing. I am not sure at this point if its the conversion process, the muxing process, or software problem, burner problem. so I have just been trying some different things to see what I get but only to dig my hole deeper and deeper. I am about ready to give up my (s)vcd adventure and just say f*ck it because its driving me crazy.

also when I make just a vcd mpg, the original avi plays fine, the mpg plays fine, but when made as a vcd it gives the same problem of the video going nuts for a bit and then coming right back. and I have experimented with different buring progs, different methods (like making bin/cue and then burning) and always get the same results.

SO I am wondering if its a problem with the original avi that does not get picked up until converting to another form.

Make certain that the audio frequency is set to 44,100Hz rather than 48,000Hz...
