I am relatively new to using TMPGEnc and am having problems converting AVI to MPEG so I can burn to CD. Basically, I am unsure how to set TMPGEnc up properly to obtain best results. For example, if I load a NTSC file do I have to do anything different in TMPGEnc than if I was converting a PAL file? The 'source' and 'video' ratio options under "Settings" have got me confused. Also, when I try to convert AVI's with odd numbers of frames, such as 20, the result is an MPEG that plays okay for about 20 seconds, then has purple "block" interference on for a few frames, then is okay for another 20 seconds. I assume it is something to do with converting from 20fps to 25fps (the standard for a PAL VCD) Thanks.
