    Mpg to VCD usinf FlaskMPEG

I used XING MPEG ENCODER to convert my divX file, WAv file into 1 MPG movie. which turned out to be around 1GB.

Now i want to use FlaskMPEG Encoder to make my mpg a VCD compliant one. When i goto the "select output options" in the Flask program iam supposed to select "Panasonic MPEG1" as the output and then continue with the rest of my settings.

Now i do not have that "panasonic mpeg1" output setting showing at all, i tried downloading the plugin and installing it but it did not work. Was wondering if anyone had an idea as too where i have to install it and go about doing this.

Or if their is an easier way to convert my divX movies to VCD. I have been lokoing for a well made walkthrough on doing this but have yet to come across an excellent. one. thank you for your time look forward to a response.

You should be able to use TMPGEnc to achieve the desired result.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

P.S. I understand that the most current version of the NERO CD burning program is capable of doing this directly.

Flask with Panasonic and Miha'sIDCT is the best!

      Hi guys,

did you carefully follow those instructions of the author of Flask to install the Panasonic plug-in:
      ------------
      Panasonic MPEG1 Encoder Plug-In for Adobe Premiere5.x
This plugin will allow you to export MPEG1 files from FlasKMPEG. You don't need to have Premiere to install the plugin and use it.

1.- Create a folder for the program and place the Flask program inside that folder.
2.- Install the Panasonic plugin and write down the place where the plugin will lay in. The installation program will ask for it, and if you have Premiere installed it will point to the Premiere plugin directory, if not you have to tell the installer the folder you want to place the plugin.
3.- Once the installer is over, you have to copy the plugin into the FlasKMPEG.exe folder. The original name of the plugin should be something like "cm-mpeg-pwi2.0e.prm" although this may vary between versions.
4.-If you've successfully found and copied the plugin into FlasK MPEG folder you have to rename it to:
      FlasKMPEGpeasopeich.dll or panplug.cm.flask
5.-That's it, the program should run now without a problem
      -------------
Now please note that according to tests made by me or many others users, not only encoding DVD to VCDs with Flask is surely faster than with Tsunami (because of the way Tsunami handles encoding in comparison with Flask, but I don't know the details), but moreover the VCD quality is better with the Panasonic plug-in than with Tsunami, and Miha's IDCT also offers the best speed/quality ratio with Flask...If you want you can just try to do some tests with fast motion movie scenes to see the diferrences of encoding speed and image quality between the 2 softs!
