Help with converting DVD Files to .mpg

I tried reading some posts and they don't seem to help at all. Here's what I want to do. I ripped my store bought DVD with Shrink to my hard drive. I want to convert those files into .mpg or .avi so I can use them to edit the video in Pinnacle Studio 9. Any help? Thanks.

It's called Dazzle DVC80 and has a USB end to connect to the computer and has audio/video inputs to run the wires to your capturing sourse (vcr/camcorder etc).

                            Help with Magic DVD Ripper

I'm wanting to do the same thing. I have a legal copy of a movie. I want to make an avi or mpeg of it so that I can edit it in Pinnacle Studio 9. I want to show clips of it in my college class that I teach.

I've downloaded the software and I've tried converting to AVI several times. Either the resolution is bad or the picture is jerky. I've been playing with the resolution and the compression rate. It's getting better but I'm running out of free trys.

Can anyone help me? The help that is available with the software isn't very good in my opinion. It assumes I know more than I do.

                            Thanks

                              Hi Pcather,

I guess this program is supposed to be one-stop fix all problem. I have never used it at all. I always shy-away from "Shareware" and "Free-Trial" crap. Since I want no Spyware or Adware on my computer. And since evidently you want a better quality outcome ... I guess you can try some other freeware.

If you are experiencing difficulty with using this program go to "Authoring and Editing" section of this forum and it will give you a ton of ideas for "Freeware" that you get your legal dvd copy on your hard drive then process it from there with few of the "Forums" Guru favaorite program.

Best help that I can offer you ... since I am not sure how much work you are willing to put into this trial.

                              G!
