Best DVD Ripper for making VCD/DVD compliant MPEGs?

Hi

What is the best Best DVD Ripper for making VCD/DVD Compliant .MPGs? When I say BEST, I mean best in terms of video quality of the output.

I got IMTOO DVD RIPPER PLATIMUM 4. It has VCD output but that comes out at .DAT & DVD output but that comes out as .VOB.

It also has MPEG-1 & MPEG-2 settings but the settings are not VCD & DVD compliant.

I know everyone have their own opinions as to THE BEST but I just wanna hear it from the forum members.

Hey Rock,

Isn't DVD supposed to come out as .VOB and VCDs as .DAT? I guess I am not as savvy ... but when I back up my original dvds they come out as vob chops and then I go from there!!!
