    Won't get sound with capture

    Hi fellows,

I've a Pinnacle PCTV (a tuner) and am trying one program after the other to capture TV programmes on one or another format that allows me to get 1 or 2 hours to a CD, even if not very good quality. I would send it than to my family and suggest them the player to see it.
Last attempt was FreeVCR. I get no sound! I try to combine several video formats with several sound formats, and play with DivX, window media player and movie maker. So may main question is, what combination of format (video, sound) combines with which player.
Other thing that I tried: Movie maker in Windows ME, which gives quite a compact file, but when I choose the TV tuner, the channel and record it, it will ask me where to save it. I give a path and name and it comes with an error that it cannot import that file (and it repeats my filename with .WMV). Strange error message when you *write* a file!

Please help me, I want my family to see those TV programmes!

    Thanks a lot,

    Norbert

Have you attempted Virtualdub? It is a versatile "freebie" commonly used for video capture. There are numerous guides for Virtualdub captures. Videowave is also a good capturing software. Pinnacle also produces digital video packages.
