I donot believe TMPGEnc accepts d2v files. Read tutorials on how to rip, or search this forum, you should ultimately create a divx avi or mpeg file.

There are many different methods for ripping, the best method is what works for you ----if you have the time you may want to experiment.

Nandub+SBC control seems popular, check numerous posts on ripping and doom9.org as well divx-digest.com For divx movies I'd recommend the divx 3.11 alpha codec and 2 pass.

              fyi for batman

dvd2avi will work with tmpg .
              Heres how
In Order for TMPGEnc to recognise D2V files, you MUST have the VFAPI and the DVD2AVI.VFP file located where the TMPGEnc.EXE file is! it will NOT work any other way! It is also sometimes helps to use the Forced Film option in DVD2AVI, but only if you are still unable to open the D2V files with TMPGEnc. (suggsted by msfox)
It works now I just have to figure out my vsd problem. Maybe you can help. I cant get it to import the chapter files from chapter x. I right click in the apropriate box but nothings happens. If your not familiar i'll post to hopefully get some help.
Thanks for all of your other help and I hope that tmpg info is useful. Hank
