    lip sync problems with tmpgenc

I have been using tmpgenc for a while now but am having problems converting a divx file to vcd. The sound is AC3 so I have used Goldwave to convert to a wav before converting to vcd. However, everytime I do this I end up with a file that is out of sync. I have used this method a few times and it has worked. The original is fine. Is there some other way I can do this or is there an update for tmpgenc that will handle the AC3 sound?

    Any help is much appreciated

Hi there, i too have encounterd the same problem and also have used Gold Wave to convet audio to wave. I havent worked out why the lip sinc goes out when i have had to convert the audio, but i use Wombles to fix the lip sinc up. I use TMPGEnc to De-mux the file and Wombles to Mux them back together, either pushing or pulling the audio file to match the video in Wombles.

    Cheers

I actually found out how to stop this using tmpegenc itself, if anyone else is interested... I followed the instructions at vcdhelp.com for converting ac3 sound. tmpegenc will do it itself if you sdjust the VFAPI settings in Environmental settings to 2. I have no idea why but I have just converted an AC3 avi no problems using only tmpegenc. All I need to do now is find time to watch the film!
