i was converting an avi file with settings according to "JON"'s complete instructions. at about 73% my pc froze. what is causing this??

it wasnt my conversion method, could be a multitude of things. Corrupt windows file , Operating System error, anything.
What version of windows are you running ? -
it wasn't your conversion, it worked on one of movies, but not on another. my movie that didn't work i'll try it again. now, i am having probs burning it. see my post in authoring under "burning problem?"
