    no audio with TMPGEnc???

I had a AVI file of 800 MB. Then I splitted it with Nandub to 2 files of 400MB. Everything is still working fine. But if I want to convert the files with TMPGEnc to VCD (Mpeg1) I get no sound.
Can anyone tell me how to ad sound to the files?

    Tnx

Your files undoubtedly include Variable Bit Rate (VBR) .MP3 audiostreams, which TMPGEnc cannot process. Do the following:

Simply use VirtualDub to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
Load your original .AVI into VirtualDub
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"
Then set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file).

Then close VirtualDub and restart it
    Set "Audio" to "No audio"
    Load your silent .AVI
Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Under "Audio" click on "WAV Audio" and load your .WAV
Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose the appropriate .MP3 settings. Click on "OK"
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and save your file with a new filename.

i had a similar problem so folowed the above and been re-encoding for twenty mins still on 0% where as stripping the adio to a wav and saving silent avi took minutes. My pc is practically at a stand still right now

I presume you're referring to the "second phase" (merging the two new files.

Did you remember to exit VirtualDub and then restart it? And then, most critically, after loading the "silent .AVI",

Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying" ?
