    Help with Morgan Stream Switcher

I am not sure if this is the right forum and I apologize if it isnt.

I have an MPEG file that is to big for a CD so I want to cut it with Virutal Dub(I have the most recent version).

When I try and load the file into VD, I get this error:
MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error

When I open the file in WMP and check the properties, it tells me that the Codecs being used are:
    Audio Codec: Morgan Stream Switcher
Video Codec: DVD Express Video Decoder

    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks,
    Yoni

The error you're receiving from VirtualDub is indicative of an MPEG2 format - which VirtualDub cannot process.

If you wish to simply split this MPEG2 file, use TMPGEnc as follows:

    File>>MPEG Tools>>Merge&Cut

Under the "Files" dropdown menu, click on "MPEG Tools" and select the "Merge & Cut" tab. (If you're burning as VCD, make sure to change the mode to "MPEG1-Video CD". If you're burning as SVCD, change the mode to "MPEG2-SuperVideoCD"). Load your file and enter a new (.MPG) name in the "Output file" box. Then doubleclick on the ORIGINAL file's name in the window, which will bring you to the cutting area. Select your desired start and end points for the first half, click on "Okay" which will bring you back to the first window and generate (in a sequence of three automated steps) the first new file. To create the second new file, repeat the steps starting with "Then doubleclick on the ORIGINAL..." (be extra patient with the second half, as the program has to do more seeking to establish the beginning of the new file).
