Yesterday I decided to figure out this whole VCD thing, with only partial success. MacPAR deLuxe makes it easy, finally, to extract RAR files on a Mac so I have been power downloading from the newsgroups. Once combined, I'm either getting a .DAT file or an mpeg which Quicktime player will not play. I use VCD Jelly beta 2c in OS9 to convert or extract the files to mpeg and that's it. Quicktime will now play the files or I just drop the mpeg into toast and burn the cd. Works great. My question is how do I create a burnable mpeg from the standard mpeg, avi or divx files found in the newsgroups. I was hoping it would be as easy as converting them the way vcd jelly does, but I've had no luck. I've tried MissingMpegTools with Mediapipe and vcdtoolsX but nothing has worked. Creating the XML files and then .dmg files is confusing as hell easy enough, but they won't burn. Bin files dont work either. What do I do?
