First 10% portion of MPEG-I file corrupted

    Greeting to all.

I have this MPEG-I file, which is perfectly ok except the first 10% (around 30-40MB) is invalid data. Players are unable to open that file as when they read into the invalid data they'll think it's not a valid MPEG file.

Cutters and editors such as TMPGEnc, VCD Gear, VirtualDub ... also can't fix that file ... since they'll only work when the first frame of the file starts with a valid MPEG sequence.

I'm sure that the contents after the 10% corrupted data is intact. Now is there a way to retrive whatever is left behind?

Just curious - If all players and conversion software fail to open this file, how can you be "sure that the contents after the 10% corrupted data is intact."?
