SVCD playback on Tosh SD22VB

Hi Guys,

I've just become the (un)lucky owner of this DVD/VHS combo player. I know it won't play SVCD disks as standard, but does anyone know of a way I can mod the player (firmware upgrade?) or has anyone used a workaround like this with any success?

AFAI understand it, a player that has the hardware capable of reading VCD should only need the necessary software to read SVCD. Although there's always the possibility that I could be talking drivel.............

A very good chance - Just ask the "privileged" owners of the Sony DVD S360, as well as many other Sony models... ;>}
