can i play ntsc formated vcd on a pal dvd......... is pal...for the dvd or the tv.....my main concern is that i live in the USA, and i am burning VCDs for my trip to INDIA. i want to know, what format sould i burn them in inorder to view them properly? and is mtsc used only in the USA?

NTSC is mainly used in North America, not sure about South America. PAL is used in Europe and Asia. However, some dvd players or tv sets let you view both PAL and NTSC formats, sometimes you may need to change some settings in either the dvd or tv set.
