Which Standalone is the best for VCD Playback?

Hey guys, I have a Proscan DVD player that I have had for along Time, Well, as my luck would have it, it does not support cd-r playback. I would like to know the best stand-alone that WILL support VCD (CD-R) playback, with the best features. I also would like to keep it under $200 (you think this is possible). Any Help, would be greatly appreciated.

How about a pleasant surprise? You can find a suitable unit in the range of $99-$129 these days.

i have an apex 3 disc which is 129 us dollars the single disc is 79 us dollars..they play everything so far(dvd,cdr,cdrw,svcd,vcd,mp3)..even firmware upgradeable ..i think they are the 2nd best ..i have found only 1 better but it was really expensive.

I took the advice and went to Wally World and got a Apex... $80.. you cant beat that. I havent had any trouble playing VCD (cdr) in at all. Thanx for the advice.

why does my vcd stop playing after i select a chapter to play. It does not continue to play after the chapter that i select is done. I have an apex 5131. Is there something I can do to fix the problem. Do you have the same problem?
