I have a fille that ends with vcd-ffn.mpg and for the life of me I can't get it to play. I've tried numerous players and codecs. I'm running windows 2000 and have never had trouble playing an mpg, dvd, or vcd file before. Could anyone give me some advise?

Try playing it with either PowerDVD or WinDVD or get an mpeg-2 codec (if it indeed is an svcd) for WMP.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Thats wierd that you cant play it in PowerDVD. Anyway, search on google.com for "windows media player mpeg-2 codec".

I'm having the same problem. Doesn't play in PowerDVD and doesn't respond to a mpg-2 codec. other vcd mpg files play fine though, just the vcd-ffn one doesn't work.Comment

First of, thank you for searching the forum before making a new thread
Now, FFN (the group which made the vcd file you downloaded) sometimes encodes with a hack of a certain codec...and so to view it you must have it.
Do you presently have an mpeg-2 codec installed (other than the one that come with powerdvd)? If not, search for and download one.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:
