VCD playback is jumpy

I made a copy of a DVD with DVDx 1.6 to an MPEG1 file. Playback on my PC is perfect. But after burning the file to a vcd with nero (5.5.6.4) and playing it on my philips dvd player its jumpy.
It plays a few seconds, stops, plays a few seconds, stops etc etc.

Who can help ???

Try creating the MPEG1-VideoCD format (from your initial MPEG1 file) with TMPGEnc, instead of NERO. Then use NERO only to burn the VCD.
